Alexis y Fido nominated twice for Latin Grammys

An important group of artists from the Sony BMG Latin record label were nominated to the Ninth Annual Latin Grammy Awards; the list was released today in a press conference by a group of artists and members of the Latin Recording Academy®, from the famous House of Blues in Sunset strip of Los Angeles. Kany García, the newest Puertorican star was one of the hosts of the presentation.The brothers Victor & Leo were nominated in the best album of regional contemporary or Brazilian roots music category, for their album “Ao vivo em Uberlandia”
“The nominations continue to reflect a dynamic community of Latin music in the entire world of our established artists, presenting at the same time the new artists” said Gabriel Abaroa, president of the Latin Recording Academy®.
The Ceremony of the Latin Grammy Awards will be televised live November 13 on Univision (8:00 pm Eastern Time) from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The show will include the most important artists of the moment in Latin music and will be watched in 100 countries around the world.
The Ninth Annual Latin Grammy Awards will have 49 categories, including “Grabación del Año” (Record of the Year), “Canción del Año” (Song of the Year), “Álbum del Año” (Album of the Year), “Mejor Nuevo Artista” (Best New Artist). “With more than 5 thousand records submitted this year, it makes us proud to see how many music professionals are part of these awards” said Gabriel Abaroa, President of the Latin Academy of Recording.
